Hi. My name is Mark Johnson. I'm an indie musician and singer/songwriter living in the small town of Carnelian Bay, California on the shores of Lake Tahoe. We're in the Sierra Nevada mountains about 50 miles west of Reno, Nevada. I've had many memorable experiences in my life. Quite a few have been great... some not so great. While they can be tough to endure, I believe that life's difficulties and uncertainties can inspire more compelling stories and songs.

I create rock, country rock, blues and Americana songs from my real-life experience and what I've learned so far. It's music with a brain. Music that lets you know "Hey, I'm not the only one who feels that way"... and can even make you smile a bit.

NEWEST SONGS:  The most recent additions to my site are "Where's my road?" and “Piece of mind”. Based on the experience of a long life, "Where's my road?" is the best advice that I can give anyone. I wrote "Piece of mind" almost 25 years ago but only finished recording it recently. It's slow, sad, country... and tells a powerful story that affects so many of us. 

On the other end of the sonic spectrum, there's "It's my world too"... a loud, fast, angry protest against the greed, violence and political insanity that have overtaken our country. Don't let the pigs take over. It's time to fight back.
