The Forte Awards were created in 2016 to celebrate musicians and entertainers in the Reno/Tahoe region (and raise a ton of money for several wonderful causes in the process). From among hundreds of submissions, I was nominated as a finalist in two categories: Guitar and also Multi-Instrumental Performer. My wife Sue and I attended the gala awards show at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno on November 3, 2016. It was truly a first-class event including the red carpet where we nominees were interviewed and photographed. (A very cool experience, by the way.) There were about 1,000 attendees with many in black tie or other fancy duds (me excluded). While I didn't win, there were some terrific musicians who did. We had a great time. THANK YOU, Forte Awards! I'm now looking forward to what I might be able to accomplish in 2017.
